There will come a time (probably around the 5th month of pregnancy) when you will find yourself needing clothing specifically labeled “maternity”.
This basically means garments designed to fit that growing belly of yours. You would be surprised at how much of it is out there. I’ve teamed up with Great Expectations Maternity to showcase some key pieces you should get for your wardrobe and they are all budget friendly!
This grey tank top dress has side ruching on it that helps cradle your bump perfectly. Don’t be scared of stripes during pregnancy! They actually look super adorable on a bump! Shop the tank dress here for under $13
You’re going to to want one or two plain black dresses. Black is chic and so easy to dress up or down. I opted to dress this up more with a sophisticated hairstyle and on trend accessories. Shop the t-shirt dress here for under $14.
I had the hardest time finding black denim that was stretchy and comfy. These jeggings will be a great substitute for your go to black leggings. They run long so I cuffed mine and I did one quick shrink wash when I got them to ensure the snuggest fit I could get. Shop the black jeggings here for under $18.
You’ll want multiple pairs of maternity jeans. I love the light wash of these and that they hit my ankle perfectly. Also pretty soon you’ll find your regular shirts and tank tops won’t be able to cover your bump so it’s best to have a white and black top for layering. Shop jeans here for under $21. Shop layering tanks here for under $8 each.
Size reference: I’m 5’7 and wear a size Small. I would recommend doing a shrink wash on the jeggings if you want a snug fit. Everything else fit me true to size.
